More space adventures on the way. We just started working on this season when the pandemic hit and everyone had to transition to working from home. Hope everyone enjoys the show, a lot of extra work and creative problem solving went into this one.

I’ve been obsessed with black paints lately. Just ordered some singularity optical black to play around with. It was developed for NASA and, fun fact, has a reflectance of <1.25% in the visible & <0.5% in the infrared, out to 24 microns. This should be interesting.
Someone just said my paintings have a lot of Chiaroscuro and I had go look it up, before saying thank you.
Last night Lucasfilm Animation took home the trophy for best animated television series. I’m proud to be a part of such an awesome team.

My new painting pallet from prolific painter arrived in the mail so I took it up in the hills for a maiden voyage. Happy with it so for. It looks sturdy. We will see how it holds up this summer.
I was fortunate enough to watch a 30th adversary screening of temple of doom then listen to Dennis Muren talk for an hour about making fake lava. Today was super awesome.
Rudie wanted to make a self portrait in oil so I showed him how to set up the gear and then helped him out with the paint mixing, and a bunch of observational tips. He was a great student. I think he did a great job. Not bad for his first try.
The boy and I are learning to make watercolor.
After years of using paper plates, discarded tins and DIY contraptions for my oil pallets I decided to splurge and get some proper oil plein air gear. A few months ago I found the Daytripper Easel by Prolific Painter online and have been salivating over it ever since. Last night I put my money on the table and ordered one. If the larger Road tripper gets released I’ll be in line for it as well, that looks more my size. The weather is stunning outside, can’t wait to get back on the trail and test out the new gear.
