Minecraft Morning

oil Painting

It’s raining pretty good outside so the boys curled up in my bed and started building in their realm. Rudie broke his foot the other day so I expect there to be a lot of these virtual adventures for the next month or two.

Intro to oil

Oil painting self portrait by a boy age seven
Rudie Sheehy, oil on board, age 7

Child’s first oil painting
Rudie Sheehy self portrait, oil, age 7

Rudie wanted to make a self portrait in oil so I showed him how to set up the gear and then helped him out with the paint mixing, and a bunch of observational tips. He was a great student. I think he did a great job. Not bad for his first try.
