Bath house
I was taking drawing requests and a friend asked that I draw a bath.

Traffic looked bad so I parked at the Berkeley Aquatic Park to do a little painting. The lighting was blah and I almost got hit by foul frisbee golf play. Still it was a lot more fun than sitting in i80 traffic.
Had a free day, so I packed the new gouache set and headed out to the family winery. The skeleton of my old tree house is this oak tree by a pond there. Lot of good memories in that tree… as well as a lot of ants.
No reference. Just a random seascape I made while playing guitars and doodling late night with my brother.
I’m away from Hong Kong and working in Emeryville for a few weeks. Without the kids around I have extra time at night. With this in mind I picked up a set of Winsor & Newton gouache paints to play around with. Honestly, I can’t think of a better way to pass an evening than drinking good wine and drawing with old friends. Here is my contribution to last nights little drawing party.
The completed book.
The final third of the book. I would have had posted it sooner had I not misplaced the sketchbook. It went missing for a few days. After a good deal of stress and several fruitless searches I found it, of all places, in my drawing bag. Boy did I feel like a fool.
The second third of my pocket sketchbook. At this rate I should be able to finnish up within the week.
I’m working on a new pocket sketchbook. Quick, fast and loose this time. Most of it was drawn at the dinner table, while ridding the train or while watching my kids play. About half way through the book at this point. The rest to come shortly.
Wacky-train-drawing-fun-time with my boys always yields silly stuff like this overly ornate mechanical wonder vehicle. I christened her the the grandiloquent express.
I wonder what Thomas the Tank Engine would say to such a classy girl?
