Citron Fire Rd
Misty rain this afternoon up on the hill above Larkspur.

Here is another sketchbook. I guess this one documents season 2 of the great covid pandemic. Less drawings at home, more figure drawing and on location doodles, but still lots and lots of face masks. As an aside, I was reading A Farewell to Arms by Hemingway and Valley of the Moon by Jack London during this time and their influence is found throughout.
I was in Alexander Valley this morning because I was told there was snow on the mountains yesterday. Alas, no no more snow. Perhaps on the higher peaks but they were veiled behind dense clouds. A little disappointed I parked over by the corner of Hassett Lane and Lytton Station Rd to paint the soggy wet vineyards. This is the view looking East towards Pine Flat.
The rain stopped, the sun came out and there was a beautiful sunset over by the estuary in Corte Madera Marsh Marine Sate Park. I was chasing the sun there at the end. I had to walk back to the car in the dark.
It’s raining pretty good outside so the boys curled up in my bed and started building in their realm. Rudie broke his foot the other day so I expect there to be a lot of these virtual adventures for the next month or two.
There were some great clouds yesterday over by Marin General Hospital. This is the view looking north across the street from the Bay Club parking lot.
Looking south over the salt marsh towards the bridge from Hal Brown Park at Creekside.
There was a very lovely peach colored sunrise this morning. The light cut through the low misty fog and colored the hills a pail rose color. I walked across the street with my gear and setup looking north over the salt marsh towards Kentfield and Ross. I got lucky, the tide was rising and there were nice dappled sky reflections in the reeds towards the end of the session.
Started this outside on Friday but had to run and so I finished it up at home.
Hiked up the hill with the boys with pick and shovel in hand. They were on a mission to dig a trench for a future nerf war. I just wanted to kill an hour before heading off to the family gathering.
I’m pretty disappointed with this as a piece but it looks ok in the landscape
